Who we are:

Jessica Greene and Franklin Santana opened Bull City Craft shortly after their daughter Frances was born. Inspired by a friend’s craft store and studio in Brooklyn, Spacecraft, they decided Durham’s creative community needed a similar place for buying and making beautiful things.

Jessica was an art major at UNC and has a Masters of Education from NC State. She has taught art in Durham Public Schools, Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools, and Wake County and has taught classes at the Durham Arts Council and the Scrap Exchange. She brings her expertise about art materials and her experience teaching children and adults to Bull City Craft.

Franklin is the guy to go to if you need help choosing a perfect gift. Franklin worked for many years in a leather store in New York City and has great stories about the characters and celebrities who shopped there. He also worked for a wholesale company, Kikkerland, that provides our Leuchtturm journals and many of the fun gift items in the store.

Franklin and Jessica want Bull City Craft to have eco-friendly, local focus. When planning the store, they used paint and flooring from local green building supplier Common Ground. Shopping bags for the store are 100% recycled paper. Bull City Craft is a proud supporter of local arts organizations such as the Durham Art Walk, Maker Faire NC , and LabourLove Gallery.
